Alexander Scheirle

Alexander Scheirle is the Executive Director of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra New York. During a very successful career as a cellist during which he performed with orchestras around the world and recorded with such renowned composers, soloists and conductors as Pierre Boulez, Mstislaw Rostropovich, Christopher Hogwood, Trevor Pinnock and recordings for all the major labels such as EMI, Deutsche Grammophon, Arte Nova and Koch Schwann his career took a turn when he became first the Artistic and Executive Director of the Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic, and, after moving to the U.S., the Artistic and Executive Director of the Crested Butte Music Festival.

Mr Scheirle holds a B.A. from the College of Music in Saarbruecken in Germany and Masters Degree from the College of Music/Cologne- Aachen, Germany.
